Cooler Connection

Over the past few days I have been completely MIA from the blogger scene partially due to Easter and partially due to this....

What is this you may ask.... Well, this weekend are the fraternity banquets at Elon. In return for inviting you and paying for you, the girl has to make a cooler for their date. This is mine. Ten hours later, and a few tears shed I must say that I'm pretty proud of it!

The Basket

So for my readers from the South, you know that as Easter is approaching it is typical to fill your house with festive decorations for the holiday including Easter Egg Baskets. As my friends from the North have told me, Yankees don't tend to decorate for smaller occasions ( fascinating!). But in my household, we have the perfect decorations for every moment of the year.

Martha Stewart has beautiful baskets that can be used as household decorations. My favorites are...

My parents still give each of us kids an Easter Basket after church on Sunday. For years though my moms has been adding more fun items and less candy to the mix. Below are some great ideas to make the Easter Egg Basket a little more exciting!

We Get It On Most Every Night.

Today I am celebrating Tri Sigma Founders Day. For those of you who don't know, being a member of Sigma has truly defined my college years. Being the Chapter President is something I will be so proud to tell my kids about one day. With graduation right around the corner it is hard to imagine my life without my chapter. So in honor of the day I want to share a few memories from the four best years of my life with the most amazing sisters I could ask for. While my family plays a huge role in my plans for the future, so do these girls, because they are truly my soul mates.

Happy Holidays for PC 08..
My dedicated Trio.

Lastly, Greek Week Dance 2011. What's Greek Week Dance you may ask? Well check out this link, I was in the dance and  I promise its great!

If you have a daughter, encourage her join a sorority because my mother can attest to how Sigma has changed me for the better. Some people say its all about paying for friends, and if that is what you think, I can assure you I didn't pay enough. The memories I've made and the friends I have found will stay with me forever.

 I literally live for us.

Day Dreaming.

As I've mentioned before the thought of graduating college has made my anxiety more aggressive then usual. My parents raised me in a serene and perfect household so naturally I now lack the ability to accept change. To calm my nerves I have returned to my shopaholic ways (Sorry Dad!) and spend too much of my time day dreaming about clothes. Today there are two things on my mind....

Last month my mom and I saw this bag in Kate Spade and immediately fell in love. While I typically am not a fan of the color pink, I'm obsessed with this pale shade. I love it. I need it. Crossing my fingers that this will be a graduation present (cough cough family)

I'm also in love with this dress. My friend recently found this designer and shared her knowledge with me ( shout out Megg Grubbs.). Tracy Negoshian has the cutest dresses and you should all check them out. The bell sleeves are so perfectly southern and proper. They remind me a lot of Lily Pulitzer but with a drastically less expensive price tag. I could wear it to church, graduation parties or summer cookouts. But as my mother can assure you I have plenty of dresses for all of those occasions so for now it's on hold....

Happy Tuesday!

The Beginning of the End.

Today I am one month away from graduating college and exiting the bubble known as Elon University where I have spent the last four years of my life. A day in my life is filled with anxiety, plans of change, and plenty of last memories spent with my wonderful friends. With that being said, I believe there is no better time to start a blog and track where my life is headed.

I grew up in small town North Carolina and have been blessed by God with one of the most incredible families imaginable. My parents are my idols, my brothers are my ultimate best friends, and my sister in law is my newest confidant. As I experience these last few weeks in college and chart my path for the future my decisions will effect all 6 of us.

You may wonder what makes my blog worth following? Well I was raised by the quote "make us proud and remember who you are." These powerful words are the basis of how I live my life everyday and my blog will show you all what it truly means to be Daddy's Carolina Girl in a big world.

Enjoy!
